Board Member at Large

Trish has found her passion at the intersection of higher education and social work. In her current position at DU's Graduate School of Social Work, she works to engage community partners and support a growing network of social change makers in the Denver area. She received her MSW from the University of Washington, following a transformative experience working with NGOs on the Thai-Burma border. Trish is passionate about travel, community and soaking up the Colorado sunshine.

Caty Carrico is the Membership Experience Coordinator at the Downtown Denver Partnership. She is a Denver native and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Denver. In addition to serving on the YNPN Board of Directors, Caty is on the YNPN Marketing and Membership Committee and is a fellow of the Elevate Denver Leadership Program. As an avid urbanite Caty lives, works and plays in Downtown Denver, where she enjoys exploring all the city has to offer.

Aine is Director of Digital Strategies at Nonprofit Quarterly, a sector magazine reporting on issues affecting nonprofits and philanthropy. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with an undergraduate degree in architecture. Aine discovered her passion for the nonprofit sector when she was accepted into Americorps National Civilian Community Corps following college and spent two years in AmeriCorps programs serving with a handful of diverse organizations across the nation. Aine also serves as Co-Chair of the Marketing and Membership Committee. In her spare time Aine enjoys attending music festivals, yoga, traveling, and getting out to hike the beautiful natural environment Colorado has to offer.

Executive Co-Chair

Katie Edwards is the Associate Director for The Nonprofit Centers Network, an international peer-learning community for nonprofits that share space with one another.  Katie has a passion for building the capacity of the nonprofit sector, especially among small, rural organizations, since her first nonprofit jobs in Western Kansas. This desire led Katie to pursue an MPA in Nonprofit Management from Indiana University – Indianapolis. When she’s not out saving the world (like all young nonprofiteers), Katie can be found enjoying Denver’s slam poetry scene, on the pitch with the Denver Gaels, or grubbing around in the garden.

Juliana Fajardo is the Development Coordinator for Museo de las Americas. Juliana is a California native and she moved to Denver to finish her MPA degree. She graduated from the University of Colorado Denver with a Master of Public Administration and a dual concentration in Nonprofit Organizations and Environmental Policy, Management, and Law. She has a B.S. in Statistics with minors in Environmental Studies and Dance from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. On her free time, she enjoys dancing, running, practicing yoga, and experiencing the natural beauty Colorado has to offer. Juliana joins the YNPN Denver Board of Directors with a background in fundraising and development, through interning, volunteering, and serving on committees, including a year on the YNPN Denver Fund Development Committee.


Samantha Grainger Shuba

Board Member at Large

Sam is recent addition to the YNPN board. She works for A+ Colorado as an AmeriCorps VISTA for external communications. A recent college graduate, Sam has cut her teeth doing communications work for a variety of organizations including a small healthcare marketing firm in her college town and the office of Oregon Secretary of State Kate Brown (now Governor). She found her passion for education reform while researching effects of Title IX on college campuses as it pertains to equity and inclusion. Sam has a B.A. in Rhetoric Studies from Whitman College.


Dalton Guthrie


Dalton Guthrie works as an Analyst at Analysis Group where he supports academic experts for major civil cases and evaluates economic data for strategic projects. He has prior experience working with non-profits focused on issues related to disabilities, mental health, and microfinance, and now serves on the Board of Directors and the Professional Development Committee. Originally from California, Dalton spent four years in Missouri at Washington University in St. Louis and is now exploring Colorado through skiing, hiking, mountain and road biking, running, and sampling local beers.

Kelsey Kohut is the Development Director for the Autism Society of Colorado. Kelsey recently moved to the Denver area from Michigan where she received her Bachelor’s Degree from Michigan State University and is continuing her education at Regis University to receive her Masters in Nonprofit Management. She enjoys hiking, traveling, snowboarding, biking, camping, and anything else that gets her outside to enjoy the beautiful mountains. Kelsey is a member of the Board and Co-Chairs the Fund Development Committee.

Executive Vice Chair

Brittany Pyle is the Executive Assistant at American Heart and American Stroke Association. She graduated Metro State University with a BS in Human Services and Nonprofit Administration. A Colorado Native, she enjoys camping and roaming around in the mountains, especially around Kenosha and Guanella Pass.  The rest of her time goes to National Parks, museums or her family! Brittany has been involved in many YNPN activities over the last 5 years, including being a member of the inaugural Elevate Denver leadership program.

Board Member at Large

During the day, Stephanie Russell is an Evaluator and provides evaluation, research, and data analysis services to support Coloradans at the Office of Behavioral Health. Outside of her day job, Stephanie volunteers as a board member and a Marketing and Membership committee member for YNPN. She has a fierce passion for innovation, improvement, and research coupled with a lively personality and a call to service. Stephanie is originally from Arizona, but enjoys the new adventure (and tasty beer) that Denver has brought into her life!

Sarah first fell in love with Colorado as an AmeriCorps NCCC volunteer assigned to the Denver campus in 2010. After four years away-- including a brief stint apprenticing at an apple orchard, two trips to Guatemala, and picking up her master's degree from Indiana University's School of Public and Environmental Affairs-- the New England native is back in Colorado to stay. Today, Sarah is a Career Advisor in the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder where she enjoys helping young people discover and pursue their passions. She serves on the YNPN Board of Directors and is involved with the Elevate Committee.

Leah spends her time cultivating talent in folks and matching them with great organizations primarily in the education sector. She has a mosaic of experiences that brought her to YNPN’s doorstep including earning a master’s degree in Leadership, managing a restaurant, being the middle child of five and inspiring middle school boys to love reading and writing. Her passion is removing barriers for people to live fulfilled lives, personally and professionally. She is originally from the Land of Enchantment and lives in Golden with a pretty rad husband, four chickens and typically a stray guest.


Carol Schneider

Board Member at Large

Hailing from New Hampshire, Carol Schneider made her way to Colorado in 2011 to serve as a Team Leader in AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps, a national service program. After falling in love with Colorado she developed a passion for service learning, the outdoors and Little Man ice cream. Carol is the Program Administrator for the AmeriCorps State program Community Building Partnership for Youth in Transition (CBPYT) housed at Denver Human Services. Carol enjoys biking the streets of Denver, strumming the ol’ guitar and busting out her wicked Boston accent she picked up in college. Carol is currently a member of the Professional Development Committee and a fellow of the YNPN Elevate Leadership program.

Executive Co-Chair

Mark Turner is the Director of Public Policy for Colorado Nonprofit Association. Previously, he was a Research Assistant for LARASA (Latin American Research and Service Agency) in Denver. Mark graduated from Bowdoin College (Brunswick, Maine) with a B.A. in Government and Legal Studies in 2000 and completed the Denver Community Leadership Forum in 2004. He is the past chair of the Colorado Social Legislation Committee and serves on the public policy committee of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Denver, business advisory committee for the Colorado Secretary of State, and SHOP advisory committee for Connect for Health Colorado. Mark currently is Co-Chair for YNPN Denver’s Board of Directors.
